OKLAHOMA BAD GIRLS: GALS AND PALS IN THE GILDED AGE

Author Marilyn A. Hudson, the "bizarre history genie", does it again with her new work profiling some of the young women who made headlines - rightly and wrongly - in 1890's Oklahoma.  Horse thieves, hoedowns and hoodlums...

The 1890's, the Gilded Age, in Oklahoma saw the twin territories rife with gangs, crooks, thieves, and outlaws of every stripe. The fairer sex was represented in this mix, sometimes truthfully and sometimes drawn from the whole cloth of overactive and imaginative newspaper editors, politicians and lawmen.
Meet a variety of women whose stories are often absent or distorted in the history books. Introduced will be such people as Cattle Annie, Little Britches, 'Tom King' aka Flo Quick, Jessie Findlay, Eugenia Moore, and others.

Oklahoma Bad Girls: Interesting Gals and Pals of the Gilded Age
MARILYN A. HUDSON - Hudson, author of Murderous Marriages and Death Rides the Railways, continues her historic style that earned her the title, "The Bizarre History Genie". Hudson holds degrees in History and Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

Haunted Travels: Bodiam Castle

I've just returned from two weeks touring Ireland and the UK, among the most haunted places in the world. Suffice it to say, I've come bearing gifts. Paranormal postcards in the form of haunted tales from the places I visited. First on my stop is a haunted castle in Sussex, England.

In 1385, Sir Edward Dallingridge, knight and member of the English parliament, built the almost quintessential castle of Bodiam as a defense against French invaders and a lavish home to impress his compatriots. Over the centuries, as it is throughout much of Britain, a supernatural patina has built up on the stones of Bodiam Castle. The ghostly echo of medieval celebrations has been reported on several occasions, including raucous shouts in unfamiliar tongues and ancient music. A woman in red has been spotted now and then gazing distantly from windows in the towers. In 1994, a custodian spotted a child dressed in queerly Dickensian attire running in the direction of the castle but the boy vanished midway across the bridge.
Look for more posts in the coming days as I share more of my paranormal travels.

"Scream all you want. No one is coming to your rescue.

Her luck has always been bad, her decisions worse, and the 'American Dream' is her nightmare.
He is the envy of many, wants for nothing, and makes it all look so easy.

They are about to meet and one of them will pay the ultimate price.

There are among us dark souls planting seeds of evil in fields most of us don't care to venture. In the shadows along the borders of our civilized world, they reap from the flesh of the lost a foul harvest.

But some things grow tougher in the shadows.  Sometimes they fight back."

Early comments about the work :

".. it was very well written. With a lot of cliffhangers that kept you just so intrigued. You never really knew what was around the next corner. Loved the book now waiting for the movie."-- Lorene Young, Case Management Assistant

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to Writing...

An epic saga interrupted my writing and publishing plans causing problems, heartaches and many a disappointment along the way. I am happy to say that the long, dark night of hiatus is coming to an end. Manuscripts interrupted will be completed soon, and I believe they will be better for the simmering. I look forward to launching these long awaited titles and adding some new works.
